Vertical Church Films

Vertical Church Films was launched in 2012 based on James MacDonald’s vision of producing professional films through Harvest Bible Chapel. Dallas Jenkins, producer and director of multiple short and feature films, came from Los Angeles to Chicago to execute the vision. Their first project was the Christmas short film The Ride, which won festival acclaim all over the country and is currently being distributed internationally. It was followed by an Easter short film The Two Thieves, which brought similar success. Their debut feature film, The Resurrection of Gavin Stone was released in theaters in 2017 and is now available for purchase.

Dallas Jenkins

Dallas Jenkins has been producing and directing feature films and shorts since 2000 when he produced the feature Hometown Legend and shepherded it to distribution by Warner Brothers. He then directed multiple shorts and features that won multiple festival awards and are currently on DVD and TV all over the world, including the features Midnight Clear (Lionsgate DVD), Though None Go With Me (Hallmark Channel original), and What If… (Pure Flix DVD). He is currently Executive Director of Vertical Church Media at Harvest Bible Chapel in Chicago, where he directs and produces films. His first full length feature film at Harvest, “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone,” which stars Brett Dalton (Marvel’s Agents of Shield), stand-up comic Anjelah Johnson, D.B. Sweeney (The Cutting Edge), Neil Flynn (ABC’s The Middle), and WWE Superstar Shawn Michaels was released in theaters in January 2017.

Pastor James MacDonald

In 1988, James MacDonald, and a small group of ministry partners, started Harvest Bible Chapel which now has 13,000 people meeting at seven locations across Chicagoland each weekend. Walk in the Word, a Bible-teaching TV and radio broadcast ministry, was established in 1997. The radio program reaches more than three million people daily and the TV audience extends around the world. In 2002, the church-planting ministry Harvest Bible Fellowship was founded and has established more than 100 churches across North America and around the world. James’ extensive ministry includes a training center for pastors, a year-round camp, a center for biblical counseling, a disaster-recovery organization, and a Christian school. James is the author of several books including Vertical Church, Authentic, Lord Change My Attitude, When Life is Hard, Always True, Come Home, and Act Like Men.
